Self Tape Studio

A wide view of the self tape setup we offer. The reader stands left of camera, underneath the dome light.

This is a wide of the view the camera has. The backdrop is curved to allow full body slates in landscape mode.

Another angle of the setup available to you. We have basic props like drinking glasses and a cellphone, and you can use the mirror for HMU and last looks.

The Studio
Setting up and taking down your audition setup in your apartment probably gets pretty cumbersome, I know it did for me for a long time. That's why when I moved, I made sure I'd have enough space available so I'd never have to take it down. Now we'd love to share that space with you.
Our self tape studio offers more than enough space to film active, full body auditions and the lighting and sound equipment makes sure that you're seen and heard well, whether you're yelling in a comedy or whispering in a drama.
The heart of the setup is a Sony FX6 Cinema camera on a tripod adjustable for any height performer. The audio is captured with a Sennheiser MKE600 microphone, and you're lit from any angle you'd like with pre-programmed lighting setups available with 1 tap on the iPad, which also serves as your teleprompter should you choose to use it. If you wish to use the teleprompter, please attach the script in your submission form below so we can make sure we have the sides ready for you on the scrolling teleprompter. We can do it short notice, but it will eat into your audition time.
Your reader is acting coach/casting director Miranda Forcier. Miranda has been in the casting world for decades and knows what casting directors are looking for in self-tape auditions.
When your audition has been shot, you have the option of leaving with the ungraded Slog-3 footage right there and then and editing the takes at home yourself, or you can have us edit and color-correct your footage so it looks as cinematic as it can. If you're on a tight deadline, we can accommodate you.
